Amora Gedel Park

This a magnificent park located around the fish market in Hawassa. It occupies about 163 sq. miles. It is a perfect place to take an evening stroll while overlooking Lake Hawassa. Locals come to the park for relaxation as well as doing some fishing from the shore, while vervet monkeys and Colobus monkeys and birds of many species wander around, looking for food.

Fish Market

You can visit the Fish Market in Hawasa in the morning. It is situated within the city boundaries and can be easily accessed by taxi or other forms of transportation. Along the shore, there are several small eateries that cook delicious seafood dishes that will make your mouth water. As you explore the market, you will also have the opportunity to observe Marabou, Pelicans, and other birds feasting on the leftover fish.

Tikur Wuha Park

This beautiful park with dense forest is located in the entrance of the city of Hawassa. Its total area is estimated to be 295 sq. miles. There are many activities you can do in the forest. Some of them include hiking, photography, collecting cones, listening to birds, climbing trees, camping, following a trail, tracking animals, going birdwatching, having a picnic and playing Poohsticks.
